Big Daddy Weave
Have you ever had a week were you keep bumping into a theme that causes you to wonder what God is trying to teach you?
There is far too much for me to share in this one post, but one of the things I bumped into was a song being played on 104.7 The Fish called Redeemed by Big Daddy Weave…specifically this lyric:
But when I hear You whisper, “Child lift up your head”
I remember, oh God, You’re not done with me yet
I am redeemed, You set me free
The story behind the song and song itself are shared in the video below. I apologize upfront if you have to endure 15 seconds of a pre-video commercial, but I promise you the story and the song will be worth the wait!
All this comes on the heels of my latest PET scan which revealed good news there was no active cancer present in the scan. It’s too soon to declare remission, but one year post-chemo with “no activity and stable” is an awesome place to be!
Isaiah 43:1: “But now, this is what the Lord says—He who created you, Jacob, He who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are Mine.”
The theme running through my head is: so what is next?
My Heavenly Father, who knows my name and heard all those prayers for healing, is not done with me yet.
Seems like all I could see was the struggle
Haunted by ghosts that lived in my past
Bound up in shackles of all my failures
Wondering how long is this gonna last
Then You look at this prisoner and say to me “son
Stop fighting a fight it’s already been won”
I am redeemed, You set me free
So I’ll shake off these heavy chains
Wipe away every stain, now I’m not who I used to be
